The Start of it all…
Separated from his wife and children Detective Benny Griessal already has enough troubles. For a recovering alcoholic, everyday is a new struggle. Waking to memories of a night with a girl who definitely was not his wife, Detective Benny Griessal feels bad enough, but his day is about to get much worse. In the heart of Cape Town a teenage American tourist has been found murdered. With little help from the local police, Benny and the two detectives he’s mentoring need to act fast to secure the area and find out what happened. First on the scene is Inspector Vusi Ndabeni, keen to learn from the older Afrikaan detective, particularly when the crime involves an American girl.
Next a call from Fransman Dekker and Benny is plunged into another high profile case across town. The murder of a record producer causes a stir in the community and threatens to be the cause of even more press interest. Then, with the discovery that the dead American girl was not alone, the priority is to find her missing friend Rachel Anderson before it’s too late. The race against the clock is on.
