Marc Lucas had the perfect life. A job he enjoyed, an ideal marriage and a baby on the way. But when he crashed the car and killed both his wife and unborn child, his world fell apart. He is left with a splinter lodged permanently near his spine that could cause paralysis at any moment. Back from that brink, Marc is plagued by dreadful memories. He sees an advert promising the impossible and signs up to get his memory erased at the prestigious Bleibtreu Clinic.
Having the gravity of what he is about to do fully explained, Marc backs out. But then the reality of his world fractures and strange things start to happen. First his credit card is declined. Then his key to his own apartment doesn’t work. Stranger still, his dead wife opens the door to him – but has no knowledge of who he is. His father in law disappears into thin air, and Marc begins to suspect that the lab have used him as a test subject, despite his wishes to the contrary.
